PRIVATE DRIVERS
We are very happy to be of service to private individuals. Although we do not teach Novice Drivers ('L' drivers) to drive and pass their driving test, we are involved in the Pass Plus Scheme, which helps new drivers to gain experience and well-founded confidence.  Many drivers suffer a 'blind spot' when it comes to subjects such as parking, manoeuvring or reversing. Others have a phobia of driving on a dual carriageway or motorway. We can assist by quickly pinpointing the cause of the problem and providing gentle understanding and an effective solution.Only recently a newly-widowed elderly lady was unable to back her car out of her drive, because her late husband always drove and she had lost confidence to the point that she thought she had forgotten how to do it! An hours' practice not only restored her confidence, but she also learnt to reverse IN, not OUT, as it is so much easier and safer.  Others again would like to learn how to tow anything from a small trailer up to a horse box, caravan or yacht: we can help! Incidentally, if you passed your car test after December 31st,1996, you cannot tow anything larger than a small trailer up to 750KG MAM (Maximum Authorised Mass) unless you take a separate towing test at an approved DSA test centre. We also have great experience of assessing and  training foreign nationals who need to drive in the UK (typically au pairs, nannies, etc.,) who become responsible for driving often very small children in your family car, often on the dreaded 'school run'.
